Follow the sounds of sirens - effective warning systems
The loud and distinctive wail of an electronic siren is there to signal an alarm to evacuate workplaces, schools and shopping centres should there be imminent danger.
Sirens and timers are high-performance sound signal amplifiers and are also used as a reminder to school staff and children that it is the end of a school day or for factory or mine employees that lunchtime is over or it is the end of a shift.
A flameproof siren is often installed in certain industrial locations to provide a visual warning in noisy areas where a wailing siren may not be heard or to supplement a buzzer/hooter warning.
Amber beacon lights are generally used on emergency vehicles. Amber is known to be a hazard warning colour, to get attention or warn of potential danger as well as being a call for caution.
